Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator I will be located in the Office of the Medical Director (OMD) and is responsible for program coordination and contract management related to OMD programs.  Responsibilities include program coordination for OMD clinically focused programs including but not limited to the Rapid Initiation of ART (RIA) and DoxyPEP initiatives.  Related duties include coordinating and contributing to the development and implementation of policies and program guidelines; communication and provision of program guidance, updates, and resources; preparation of program-related documents and education materials; provision of technical support to providers; assisting with promotion of OMD programs. Program and contract management responsibilities include negotiating, evaluating and approving contract work plans, budgets, vouchers and narrative and data reports; providing guidance and technical assistance to contracted providers; ensuring compliance with program goals and policies; planning, coordinating and conducting monitoring site visits to evaluate provider effectiveness and progress in meeting contractual obligations; preparing narrative and statistical reports. Other related duties including coordinating and participating in RFA reviews.  

OMD is a critical component of the AIDS Institute, with responsibility for ensuring that the promotion of health for LGBTQ+ communities, care for individuals who use substances, and HIV/HCV/STI prevention and care is consistent with the most current scientific evidence and helps to define the highest quality clinical practice. OMD has a strong focus on clinical guidelines and care, education, and training, and is also an important advisor to the Institute in its formulation of science and clinical policy. The successful candidate will be joining a group of dedicated public health professionals who take pride in the work of OMD.


Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in program coordination; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience in program coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of issues related to the provision of services to persons with HIV/AIDS and/or communicable diseases. At least two years of experience providing technical assistance to health and human service providers or interacting with health care providers (physician (MD/DO), advanced practice providers (NP/PA), or registered nurses (RN)) or county health department staff. At least two years of experience in case management, care coordination, and/or community patient care. At least one year of experience working in communicable disease surveillance, sexual health testing and immunization, HIV testing, or other public health interventional setting – will consider volunteer and community-based work. At least two years of experience facilitating team meetings or projects. At least one year of supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities and groups. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Bilingual in English and Spanish or another language. Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Medical/Clinical Social Worker (LCWS/LMSW) and at least four years of practicing within the license specialty.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
