Job Description

Ensures assigned locations, business units, or proposed products and processes are in compliance with various laws and regulations. Develops and enforces compliance policies and procedures. Acts as the primary compliance consultant/resource for assigned location, business units, or products with respect to questions, consulting, and training. Participates in and ensures compliance in the design and development of policies, procedures, processes and training programs. Analyzes new and pending laws and regulations which directly affect company practices and works with affected areas to ensure appropriate compliance. May be involved in a variety of compliance projects and initiatives regarding information disclosure, legal proceedings, etc. Performs periodic reviews to assess level of regulatory compliance.

This role requires an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and General Agency Clearance to start employment. Typically, this process can take anywhere between 8 -12 weeks, however, time may vary.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

Job highlights:

The Remittance, Federal Banking, and Mail Operations and Control Procedure Writer positions consists of the following:

•    Develop procedures and material to allow operations to accurately execute processes and develop a connection to control activities for U.S. Bank regulatory compliance and customer requirements within our RFBMO entity. The material will be the source documents for external auditing groups to gage the accuracy of operational readiness.
•    Develop and review workflow or process mapping material (as needed) for procedures to enhance understanding and for utilization with upcoming assessments, such as PCI.
•    Ensures assigned RFBMO sites and procedures are contain various controls and regulations required for the bank and SOC1, RSCA, Reg AB, Reg Z, etc. 
•    Ensures procedures accurately reflect the process as well as the regulatory controls and monitoring and those procedure titles are correctly reflected within Archer.
•    Reinforces compliance policies within procedures. 
•    Acts as the primary consultant/resource for designated RFBMO locations with respect to questions, consulting, and change updates.
•    Communicate and escalate to management when risks in process or failure to execute on documented procedures is discovered along with identifying recommendations.
•    Participates in, and ensures compliance in the design and development of policies, procedures, and processes (i.e., sending to CAT for approval for Customer or Employee facing material)
•    Analyzes procedures to ensure new processes, controls, and regulations that directly affect RFBMO practices are incorporated and work with areas of operation and compliance to ensure procedures accurately reflect requirements. 
•    May be involved in a variety of projects and initiatives relating to RFBMO operational and process changes as a SME and to identify risk associated with the changes.
•    Performs annual and biennial reviews of existing procedures on the OSKC or Shared Drives for portions of Government; ensuring updates are made and steps are identified for all Wholesale Lockbox sites (9) or Government Lockbox sites (3) and Mail Operations teams (5) to maintain consistency in process and documentation.
•    Draft and send bulletins from shared mailbox to appropriate distributions to communicate changes and updates monthly, or sooner as needed.
•    Participate in monthly OSKC calls to stay abreast of corporate standards and requirements related to procedure documentation.
•    Participate in various business as usual implementation or change control calls to stay abreast of upcoming changes or new processes.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically three or more years of experience in regulatory compliance activities

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Thorough knowledge of government and regulatory laws and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. Bancorp operations, policies and procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to research and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong presentation skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $73,610.00 - $86,600.00 - $95,260.00
