We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Compliance to join our leadership team. The VP of Compliance will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing our company's compliance program, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies across our global operations. The role will ensure that the company’s operations and products adhere to the necessary legal and ethical standards, including the integration and ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. About the Role
In this opportunity as Vice President, Compliance you will be responsible for:
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program that meets the needs of a global organization with diverse businesses and operations.
Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, and other relevant regulations.
Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization and its products.
Advise senior management on potential legal and compliance risks and recommend appropriate actions.
Ensure that policies are regularly reviewed and updated to meet evolving legal and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with product development teams to ensure that all products comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Collaborate with business leaders to identify and mitigate compliance risks, and develop effective controls and procedures to address these risks.
Manage internal investigations and coordinate with legal counsel when necessary
Lead a team of compliance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure the team is equipped to meet the evolving compliance needs of the organization.
Foster a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the organization, promoting awareness and understanding of compliance requirements and expectations.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry associations, and external partners.
Provide expert advice and guidance to the business on compliance matters, including contract reviews, due diligence, and risk assessments.
Manage compliance-related projects and initiatives, ensuring effective project planning, execution, and delivery.
Monitor and report on compliance metrics and key performance indicators, providing insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board.
Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance-related topics.
About You
You are a fit for the role of Vice President, Compliance if your background includes:
University degree in a business or legal-related field. A law degree is considered a strong asset.
10+ years of experience in compliance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience of working in the technology or similar sector desirable.
Extensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to the tech industry
Strong understanding of corporate governance and risk management principles
Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs in a global context
Ability to effectively integrate business, operational, technological, and financial components in control and testing work.
Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions to complex control, financial, or technical issues.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver high quality, actionable feedback on a variety of complex issues.
Strong strategic thinking and decision- making skills with the ability to develop creative solutions for a variety of emerging organizational and industry challenges.
Experience with compliance issues related to AI and emerging technologies is highly desirable.
Proven ability to build and lead a high performing team.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Track record in leveraging technology and automation to design and develop efficient and effective compliance processes.
