Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. We offer market-leading products and services, supported by some of the world’s best systems and processes. Within RBS, the Consumer Finance Domain is responsible for end-to-end P&L management, product design, credit risk, acquisition & portfolio management and customer experience for Credit Cards and Personal Loans.

The Product Squad sits within the Credit Cards Crew and our purpose is to deliver highly desirable, viable and reliable credit card products to our target market. We deliver on our purpose by using customer and data insights to build card CVPs that meet our customer’s needs, now and into the future. In addition, our squad is responsible for pricing changes that strike the right balance between commercial and customer outcomes.

You will report to the Chapter lead for Credit Card Products & Solutions, who will support you with your performance and development. Your primary objective will be to work with the Product Owner, in the Product squad responsible for the CVP, Strategic Direction and Pricing initiatives for our Retail card suite. This will involve working with various squads and other internal stakeholders (finance, technical, risk, compliance, marketing, change) and external partners.   

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Development of Customer Value Proposition (CVP): Work with relevant stakeholders to help develop the CVP across the card suite
  • Pricing: Review and enhance our pricing structure to balance customer and commercial outcomes
  • End to End Development & Execution: Design, develop and deliver products and features and bring them to market
  • Product Governance: Contribute to all product governance obligations to ensure we are delivering products that best suit our clients’ needs, but also mitigate against any risks to our clients or the Group
  • Risk & Compliance:  Ensure that any aspect of the delivery and ongoing operation of the product complies with all risk and regulatory requirements
  • Market Trends: Monitoring of domestic and global trends to spot market opportunities

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong cards product knowledge (preferred). As well, experience managing banking products is highly regarded
  • Previous experience in consulting or strategy is highly regarded
  • The ability to think analytically and use data and insights to develop strategies, make decisions and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of credit card products and their economics
  • Experience of working with card partners and schemes (preferred)
  • Understanding of the Credit Card payment solutions
  • Experience in delivering strong outcomes in an Agile environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including the ability to progress multiple initiatives concurrently
