The Director of Program Management will be responsible for the successful planning, developing, execution, and implementation of programs and projects within the School of Global Health. They will work closely with project leads to ensure that plans are aligned with strategic objectives and that all program and project deliverables are met. They will provide leadership and mentorship to team members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully complete their tasks. Additionally, this individual is responsible for program budgets and schedules, as well as ensuring that programs are compliant with college-wide policies, procedures, and protocols.
Daily Operations
- Program management: Oversee the program management team and direct ongoing program activity. Responsible for defining and setting program goals and objectives, creating work plans and timelines, monitoring progress against targets, and reporting results to senior management. Support other activities developing the School of Global Health.
- Strategic direction: Participate in senior staff meetings and set school-wide agendas. Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements.
- Project management: Responsible for maintaining all projects on time and organized. Meet with project managers, monitor active projects, and assess the results of completed projects. Maintain a spreadsheet and timeline of all current projects.
- Performance improvement: Find solutions to improve performance at all levels within the School of Global Health.
- Team management: Hire, train and be a motivating mentor to project staff. Evaluate project leaders for efficiency and accomplishments. Build a strong team through open communication and by collaborating on decision-making responsibilities.
- Budget and operations: Assist the AVP of Operations & Budget with development and approval of budgets and operations for projects.
- Communication: Create and nurture effective communication within the organization. This individual will also have the responsibility for customer/funder relationships and assist the Director of Communications with marketing aspects of programs.
- Goal setting: Work with leadership to set strategic goals and objectives for school-wide programs.
- Problem resolution: Resolve problems between program teams and other internal/external stakeholders.
- Implementation plans: Coordinate with program leaders and other stakeholders to create detailed implementation plans.
- Events Management: This role will also be responsible for leading all live-events such as webinars, live streaming, in-person, etc.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as public health, global health, health equity, health law & policy, human resources, accounting, business management, business administration or communications.
- Minimum of five years of experience in program management.
- Previous significant experience of working in higher education.
