Job Description
Responsibilities
Perform General Ledger and monthly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP, Argentine accounting standards, GM policies, and internal controls.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting working papers.
Identify and analyze accounting risks, unusual balances, and complex transactions, applying sound technical judgment and escalating significant matters when required.
Prepare the conversion of financial information from local currency to the USD functional currency and analyze foreign exchange impacts.
Prepare statutory trial balances, US GAAP-to-Local GAAP adjustments, inflation accounting calculations, and complete statutory financial statements, including notes and supporting schedules.
Prepare statutory and government reports and support filings with IGJ and other applicable authorities.
Coordinate external audit requirements and ensure timely resolution of audit requests and accounting matters.
Execute internal controls and SOX-related procedures, maintaining complete and review-ready documentation.
Partner with Finance, shared service centers, and regional teams to obtain inputs and resolve accounting and reporting matters.
Support process improvement and automation initiatives using data-analysis tools.
Provides direction to a team of individuals with similar functional responsibility
Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each applies to GM as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements
