Job Description

As a Director, HIV Franchise Marketing, OLP Advisory Boards & KOL Engagement – HIV PrEP, at Gilead you will be a key driver of strategic opinion leader initiatives that shape the future of HIV PrEP marketing. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact advisory boards, craft compelling content, and build meaningful relationships with key opinion leaders to influence brand strategy and market direction. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams and represent the commercial organization at major congresses, ensuring insights from the HIV landscape translate into actionable strategies. With responsibility for agency management, budget oversight, and compliance, this position is ideal for a marketer who thrives on collaboration, strategic thinking, and creating programs that elevate engagement and deliver measurable business impact.
Key responsibilities:
Lead Advisory Board Strategy and Execution for HIV PrEP, including focus area selection, content development, and OL attendee recommendations.
Develop and Deliver Advisory Board Content in collaboration with Medical Affairs and Brand teams, ensuring scientific accuracy and strategic alignment.
Drive KOL Engagement Strategy and Execution, including segmentation, messaging, relationship-building, and establishing systems for tracking engagement.
Represent Commercial Leadership at Key Congresses, partnering with Field Leadership on strategic OL meetings and preparing executive briefing materials.
Monitor HIV Landscape to identify insights and opportunities; provide recommendations for OL involvement in strategic initiatives.
Manage Agency Partnerships and Budgets to ensure timely, high-quality execution of advisory boards and OL engagement activities.
Ensure Compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies across all deliverables.
Key Competencies and Skills
Strategic Leadership & Innovation: Ability to set vision, think strategically, and incorporate diverse stakeholder input into actionable plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven success partnering across internal teams and external stakeholders to drive coordinated outcomes.
Pharma/Biotech Expertise: Track record in marketing or medical affairs within specialty categories and strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
Exceptional Communication Skills: Skilled in simplifying complex scientific topics and delivering clear, compelling presentations and written content.
Project Management Excellence: Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, budgets, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Entrepreneurial mindset with confidence in navigating dynamic, evolving market conditions.
Must be comfortable with sensitive topics within HIV market
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Ten Years' Experience
OR
PhD/PharmD and Eight Years' Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to travel up to 30%, domestically to conferences, advisory boards, and agency meetings
Must be comfortable with sensitive topics within HIV market
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields
Familiarity with marketing fundamentals, strategy, sales and commercial policies and practices.
Previous experience in marketing research and/or pharmaceutical sales desired.
MBA or other advanced business or public health degree is desired.
HIV experience and relationships is preferred
