Yahoo Ads is seeking a Director, Agency Business Strategy to drive strategic and operational excellence across our global agency partnerships. Reporting to the Global Head of Agency Partnerships, this role will play a critical role in shaping how Yahoo Ads engages with holding companies and key agency partners by developing scalable operating models, commercial frameworks, and execution strategies. This leader will serve as a connective layer between agency partnerships, sales, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, efficiency, and long-term growth.

Agency Strategy & Market Intelligence

  • Support Agency Sales Team in developing the overarching strategy for how the organization engages the agency landscape, including planning cycles, partnership structures, and long-term growth opportunities.

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of agency operating models, decision-making structures, and industry shifts to inform partnership strategy.

  • Create strategic narratives, frameworks, and POVs that position the organization effectively with senior agency stakeholders.

  • Help lead and develop internal briefings and strategy sessions to ensure teams understand agency needs, priorities, and market signals.

  • Evaluate new partnership opportunities using data, market insights, and commercial implications; shape them into structured strategic recommendations.

  • Advance agency education and Yahoo brand advocacy through thought leadership sessions, advisory councils, and panel discussions.

Business Development Strategy & Commercial Architecture

  • Design scalable partnership models, go-to-market frameworks, and planning approaches tailored to agency workflows and strategic priorities.

  • Support cross-functional teams—including Product, Content, Strategy, and Revenue Operations—to build and refine solutions that align with agency planning needs.

  • Monitor competitive developments and emerging industry standards to anticipate shifts and guide long-range strategy.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in agency strategy, business development strategy, partnership strategy, and/or commercial strategy within digital media, technology, or related sectors.

  • Deep understanding of agency structures, planning processes, and commercial models—not limited to media buying.

  • Strong knowledge of digital ecosystems, data-driven planning, performance models, and programmatic media and their impact on agency decision-making.

  • Experience developing long-range strategies, market frameworks, and business cases that influence organizational direction.

  • Ability to synthesize complex data, market signals, and competitive intelligence into clear strategic recommendations.

  • Exceptional communication and narrative-building skills, with the ability to present strategy to senior leaders.

  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive strategic alignment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $217,905.00 - $473,710.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
