Job Description:

The candidate will report to the Manager of Accounting and Reporting (A&R), Wealth and Asset Management (WAM) Asia in Manila, and to the MIM Manager within WAM AUM Reporting onshore. The team consists of team members in both Manila and North America whose primary role is to produce accurate, timely and relevant company-wide Assets under Management (AUM) reporting processes within the Global Wealth & Asset Management Accounting & Reporting team

Key Responsibilities:

Individual Accountabilities (80% of workload)

  •  Preparation for monthly fund business activity – launches, terminations, and large transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of AUM Reporting through production and consolidation processes
  • Perform database maintenance upon business updates and changes
  • Implement completeness checks for business source files, working papers, and finance database
  • Assist in the consolidation of AUM, Flows, and Revenue for various internal databases
  • Review and reconcile data sets/extracts and support team in various monthly and quarterly reporting to groups throughout Manulife Investment Management (MIM) and Manulife

  • Perform controls and ensure compliance with company accounting and finance policies and procedures
  • Assist in ad hoc request, regulatory, and audit queries

Projects, process improvement (20% of monthly workload)

  • Collaborate with other team members and business partners on special projects, as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and achieve efficiencies by optimization and automation

Qualifications:

  • University degree in business, finance, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant working experience
  • Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a Mid-shift schedule (3 PM-12 AM Manila time)

Minimum Skills to Hire/ Nice to Haves:

  • Background in Data Management is a plus.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. mastery of Excel formulas and pivot tables is a must; VBA is a plus). Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Project. Knowledge of PowerBI is a plus.
  • Good technical, data, and reconciliation skills
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and aptitude to learn
  • Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize, work under tight timelines, and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Well organized and with high level of energy and initiative to perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities to meet deadlines
