Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Finance Manager to join our Global Battle Management & Readiness (GBMR) Division Business Management team in McLean, Virginia. The selected candidate will report to the GBMR Division Financial Planning and Reporting Manager.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the financial close process, schedule, and deliverables to ensure timely and accurate financial results being reported to Sector Reporting, in support of the Division CFO and Controller
  • Manage the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting deliverables, including review of routine journal entries, in support of the Company's US Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosure requirements
  • Execute the operation of Financial Reporting SOX controls, maintain SOX documentation and evidence of the operation of controls
  • Support monthly preparation and review of Balance Sheet, and quarterly and year-end presentation requirements with Sector and Corporate Reporting. 
  • Develop and mentor junior analysts on the team, helping to prioritize tasks and fostering a team environment
  • Coordination and collaboration with BU/OU/Program teams on a recurring basis
  • Proactive process improvement approach to recurring deliverables, with a focus on increased data fidelity and reduced cycle time

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline and minimum of 6 years of applicable experience. Will consider 10 years of experience in lieu of degree. Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel (i.e. pivot tables and lookup formulas) and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment 
  • Ability to work on-site in McLean, Virginia

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with S4/SAP, Cognos Planning, PowerBI
  • Prior experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Proven professional and managerial skills
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions

Salary Range: $104,600.00 - $156,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
