Ideal Candidate: 

We are seeking a Vice President, Technical Product Management, with over 7 years of experience in product management, exceptional Python & SQL programming capabilities, and extensive expertise in buy-side equities trading. The successful candidate will demonstrably influence the development and optimization of our trading platforms, working closely with investment managers to cater to market needs and adhere to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Product Leadership: Drive the strategic vision for our trading platforms by evaluating market trends, investor requirements, and regulatory landscapes. Develop and sustain a product roadmap that aligns seamlessly with company objectives and client investment strategies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate intensively with buy-side investment managers, internal collaborators, and cross-functional teams to gather insights, prioritize initiatives, and ensure congruence between investment goals and technical implementations.

  • Technical Expertise: Utilize Python programming to inform architectural decisions, conduct code reviews, and develop sophisticated solutions that enhance trading platform efficiency and scalability.

  • Product Development Oversight: Direct the entire product development cycle from inception to market launch, ensuring timely delivery of superior features. Employ Agile methodologies to effectively manage product backlogs, sprints, and release schedules.

  • Regulatory and Risk Compliance: Ensure all product advancements adhere to pertinent financial regulations and industry benchmarks, safeguarding client investments against compliance risks.

  • Talent Development: Mentor junior product managers and developers, nurturing an environment of continuous growth and innovation.

Qualifications and Preferred Attributes:

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years in product management within the financial services realm, focusing on buy-side equities trading platforms.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Python & SQL programming, experienced in crafting and refining trading applications. Familiarity with financial data analytics and algorithm development is a noteworthy advantage, alongside UI & UX experience.

  • Industry Acumen: Profound understanding of buy-side trading processes, market dynamics, and regulatory demands. Experience collaborating directly with buy-side investment professionals is highly valued.

  • Educational Credentials: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance, or related disciplines. Advanced degrees or pertinent certifications are beneficial.

  • Communication Excellence: Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating intricate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.

  • Leadership Provenance: Demonstrated capacity to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, juggle multiple projects, and drive product initiatives to successful fruition.

 

The budgeted amount range for this position in New York City is $200,000 - $260,000
