Our team of intellectually curious software developers and engineers are creating new experiences for customers to shop Walmart, daily deploying +100,000 lines of code, working on private, public and hybrid clouds, and so much more.

Software Engineer - Creative Platform Team  

We are the Creative Platform team, building the tools and platforms that enable the ability to create and manage digital ads across all of Walmart intuitively and efficiently.  We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for contributing to complex, cross-functional projects.  You should be comfortable collaborating with other software engineers to translate customer requirements and high-level technical requirements into scalable technical solutions. The ideal candidate has both technical expertise and pragmatism with a bias towards shipping. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Break down complex problems into smaller components
     
  • Analytical and critical thinking to validate hypotheses
     
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve to identify and fix bugs/issues
     
  • Proactively approach to prevent future occurrences of similar issues
     
  • Pragmatic mindset to evaluate trade-offs and prioritize practical solutions
     
  • Comfortable with making decisions without perfect information
     

What you’ll bring: 

  • You’re a technologist who solves problems in creative ways.  
  • You have an eye for detail and can articulate the specifics of quality design.  
  • You are familiar with AdTech and the advertising domain. 
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • You focus on end-user impact when you build software.  Familiarity with REST APIs, particularly using Java and Spring Boot  
  • Familiarity with relational database schemas and understanding of implementing and optimizing SQL queries.  
  • Experience with Docker and utilizing Cloud providers to deploy applications and services.  
  • Experience contributing to technical design documents that communicate implementation plans.    

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Previous experience in the advertising domain  
  • Knowledge of performance, scalability, and system architecture with an eye toward avoiding and reducing technical debt.  
  • Strong inclination towards exploring and learning new technologies.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00
