RMIT’s Market Intelligence & Propositions (MIP) team is growing, and an opportunity exists to join the team as a Product Performance and Innovation Manager.   This position will sit alongside three others whose primary responsibility is provide strategic recommendations which guide RMIT’s development of educational propositions, qualifications and courses.

The incumbent is responsible for analysis of organisational and market information and has demonstrated capability to draw insights which lead to increased value for RMIT, our students and the wider community and to tell the story of the data they analyze.  The incumbent works both autonomously and collaboratively on projects which are briefed to the team by internal clients and on a cyclical calendar of ‘product’ performance reporting.  Consulting, stakeholder management and relationship building are key aspects of the role.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

  • Minimum of 3-years of proven experience in an analytical, strategic consulting and advisory position in a large and complex organisation. 
  • Proven experience in proposition development and preferably product innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult and interact effectively with all levels of the organisation and develop strong business partnerships internally. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a supporting fashion or as a project lead for cross-functional groups.
  • Strong analytics and insight capability with proven ability to complete independent analyse and interpret a wide range of information. 
  • Strong problem-solving capability and commercial judgement with high motivation and a passion for excellent outcomes.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and influence others.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work with different cultures. 
  • A strong commitment to a team-oriented approach. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The following is desirable and will be highly regarded:

  • Product development and/or product management experience within the education sector, preferably with educational offerings e.g. courses, skills training etc will be high regarded. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the higher education and/or vocational education sector in Australia, the data sets employed in the sector, the market and competitor activity. 
  • Experience working within a university, TAFE or other education and training provider organization.
  • Some knowledge and understanding of curriculum design.  
  • Some knowledge and understanding of market research methodologies and management of or market research projects.
