Job Description:

As an Accountant II, you will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This role is on a team responsible for the monthly calculation and remittance of video fees associated with the delivery of our video services.

What you will do to contribute to the company's success

  • Support the Finance & Accounting team by being a strong team player that is willing to assist others for the good of the team
  • Participates in the timely and accurate execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities relevant to programming in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation processes
  • Supports assigned internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance
  • Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of assigned areas, including related stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls that support internal and external reporting
  • Performs financial statement analysis and review. Researches and resolves issues which are identified during review
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests and participate in programming process standardization and integration projects
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization to gather, analyze, and interpret any relevant financial information
  • Proactively seeks to keep abreast of accounting, reporting and disclosure standards promulgated by the FASB, SEC and PCAOB that affect internal accounting and reporting practices. Provides sound analysis and supports the impact of changes
  • This position has the expectation and responsibility to take on other duties needed to help drive our Purpose, fulfill our Brand Principles, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Qualifications

  • 3 Years' prior experience
  • BA/BS in Accounting or related field
  • Superb attention to detail and strong planning and organization skills with concern for quality and deadlines
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, Lookups, IF statements, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large datasets to determine trends
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to think creatively, anticipate problems and opportunities, and develop vision for continuous improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to quickly and positively influence all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work extra hours as needed to support the financial close
