Department Overview

Our teams develop mission critical software for handling emergency (911, 112) calls. This platform connects our on-premise call handling solution with our leading edge CommandCentral call handling cloud product. The teams are responsible for end-to-end software development including: design, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance. We work in well balanced agile teams with a full range of software development experience and the embedded mindset of DevOps culture and continuous delivery approach.


Job Description

As a Software Engineer on the Emergency Call Handling team in Brazil, you will contribute to extending capabilities of our mission critical platform and enhancing the existing technologies we use.


Basic Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience with Java
  • Practical knowledge about microservices and REST API
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related fields
  • English language skills allowing for efficient communication with our peers and customers in North America
  • Participates not only as an individual contributor to the team, focused on daily activities and planning for the team. Engages himself in complex tasks. Works without close supervision from other members of the team. Impact on the team is strong and visible.

Must have

  • Java and willingness to contribute in C# if necessary
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • High level understanding of message broker concepts
  • Cloud experience with AWS or Azure
  • Automated testing experience

Should have

  • Message broker experience
  • Microservices architecture
  • Observability and monitoring experience
  • Understanding of the following protocols
  • HTTP / REST

Could have

  • GStreamer experience
  • Networking knowledge
  • Angular experience
  • RUST
  • SIP
  • RTP
  • WebRTC
