JOB SUMMARY

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for collaborating with the Digital Product Managers (DPM), business system owners, and users to capture business requirements and accurately translate them into specifications that aid design, coding and testing of complex software within the organization.

The incumbent performs a liaison function between the DPMs, business users, software engineers and QA analysts for implementing software solutions to accurately realize business goals. This role will support the delivery of a new Guidewire Implementation, with a focus on Data & Migration.

This is a hybrid, twice-a-week in-office role in our Raleigh or Jersey City offices.

Essential RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for P&C Data.
  • Liaises with 3rd party suppliers and implementation partners to support the timely completion of AII deliverables and provide local oversight of Corporate-level deliverables.
  • Builds close working relationships with business stakeholders, ensuring they are kept up to date and involved.
  • Learns and maintains knowledge of business applications relevant to P&C Insurance.
  • Conducts detailed data analysis in collaboration with upstream product teams to define data requirements and ensure dependencies on other product teams can be resolved within required timeframes.
  • Follows business analysis and requirements management corporate standards.
  • Works with QA colleagues to support the robust testing of system changes.
  • Plans and facilitates requirements elicitation sessions such as workshops and 1-to-1 interviews.
  • Assists the DPM in facilitating the prioritization of business requirements.
  • Liaises with technical colleagues to ensure requirements are technically feasible and business requirements have been accurately translated into technical requirements.
  • Performs detailed analysis of business requirements to ensure all implications have been considered and identify any potentially missing requirements.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Skills:

  • A background in the commercial P&C insurance industry
  • Knowledge and understanding P&C Insurance Policy, Billing and Claims Data Models
  • Experience in cloud data architecture that supports advanced analytics including Snowflake, Azure
  • 3-5 years of experience in ETL using SSIS or similar technologies
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on new Data Sources with minimal documentation
  • Understanding of product lifecycle development
  • Ability to evaluate, analyze and interpret the voice of the customer through a variety of data sources
  • Familiarity with technologies utilized in the industry and the ability to see their impact
  • Good consensus building skills
  • Ability to convey technical concepts in a clear, understandable way
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to establish credibility, influence and effective working relationships with peers and stakeholders
  • Prior experience working with 3rd party vendors to deliver results
  • Experience working with Guidewire Data Migrations is a plus

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$90,000 - $150,000/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
