The National Security Sector (NSS) is hiring for a Modeling & Simulation Engineer to work in Dayton, OH (Wright-Patterson Air Force Base / WPAFB). As a Modeling & Simulation Engineer for Leidos you will analyze, organize, plan, and administer various phases of day-to-day activities for complex modeling and simulation architectures. This opportunity is in anticipation of an upcoming contract award expected to be announced this month!
What you’ll be doing:
Analyze, organize, plan, and administer various phases of day-to-day activities for complex modeling and simulation architectures.
Analyze actual and predictable interacting operational activities of a military, governmental, or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision-making or resource allocation.
Develop, plan, coordinate, and integrate related requirements to support operational needs.
Conduct studies, technical assessments, and system analysis to determine performance and effectiveness.
Participate in analysis and evaluations of capabilities and operational concepts to identify technology feasibility, operational viability, cost impacts, and more.
Monitor and analyze strategic and operational aspects related to political, military, and economic developments.
Analyze complex contractual documents, technical data, customer operation characteristics, and related reports.
Provide technical support in field to aid customers and resolve extremely complex technical problems.
Prepare and present extremely complex technical research and develop procedures and processes.
Interface with customer and conduct technical seminars and training for customer or company personnel.
Apply engineering skills to produce intelligence products and deliver presentations and assist in task planning.
May provide team leadership to other engineers, analysts, and technicians.
Research system mission and expected performance parameters to build test scope consisting of relevant Critical Operational Issues, Objectives, and Measures of Effectiveness and Suitability.
Evaluate data and assess system performance using the collected evaluation data, experimentation data, the validated truth data, and the methodologies and tools developed during evaluation planning.
Identify limitations and thresholds of state-of-the-art technology and environmental impacts on technical performance parameters.
Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Principles.
Write technical reports to accurately describe results and problems encountered during test events.
Present evaluation results and recommendations for review and comment, ensure all documents and briefings comply with established guidance.
Assist other analysts by reviewing and providing constructive comments to planning documents, technical reports, final report briefings or other documents and needed.
What does Leidos need from me?
Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required. Must be U.S. Citizen.
Bachelor’s degree in degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
Three years of related technical experience in test design analysis, and test support.
Favorable if you have:
Five years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and assessment of sensor phenomenology.
Understanding of Design of Experiments (DoE) fundamentals.
Possess or can obtain working knowledge of USAF and USSF test and evaluation directives.
Able to use data reduction tools to analyze raw data and identify system limitation factors.
Background in Developmental or Operational Testing.
Experience with one of the following mission systems.
Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS).
Military platforms and sensors.
Electronic Warfare (EW).
