As a Software Development Lead for HP Support website, you will investigate solutions to complex problems, design solutions and work closely with Product and Operations teams to implement them. You'll need to work well cross functionally, have strong interpersonal and written communication skills, be able to operate successfully both strategically and tactically, and have a strong bias for action.

Job Summary
This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that cater to specific user needs or business requirements. The role plans, executes, and monitors software development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. The role identifies potential risks and challenges in software projects and implement strategies to mitigate these risks for successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of backend developers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Architect, design, and implement microservices to ensure modularity, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges within the team.
  • Ensure adoption of sound engineering practices across the team.
  • Lead the integration of AWS services into microservices architecture, ensuring efficient and secure use of cloud resources.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong expertise in Core Java and Java 17.
  • Proven experience in developing Microservices using Spring Boot and Docker.
  • Proficiency in AWS services such as EKS, IAM, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, and API Gateway.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, Sonar, Jenkins, ELK etc.
  • Extensive experience in unit testing using JUnit and Mockito.
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases like Mongo.
  • Proficiency with build tools like Maven, Gradle, and CI/CD pipeline deployments using Jenkins and Git.
  • Experience with observability frameworks, caching mechanisms like Redis and Memcached.

Good to Have:

  • SAFE Agile experience.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture using platforms like Kafka or AWS Kinesis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in backend development, focusing on Java and Spring Boot.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading teams or technical projects.
