Based in New York, the Associate Director of FP&A and Strategic Finance will report to our VP of Finance and will oversee our FP&A and Strategic Finance function. You will be responsible for financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting and reporting, all of which will be used to inform strategic and operational decisions that drive the growth and success of our business. This role will collaborate closely with all business departments. 

Salary Range: $155,000-$165,000, with equity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Modeling: Build, maintain, and enhance complex financial models to forecast business performance, guide strategic initiatives, and assess various business scenarios.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process across departments and develop rolling forecasts to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze financial and operational results, providing insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Marketing, Retail) to derive insights from key performance metrics that help identify risks and opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term financial planning, investment strategies, and corporate development efforts.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal stakeholders and board members, ensuring data accuracy and clear communication of performance metrics.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Support senior leadership with ad hoc financial analyses, including pricing strategies, new product launches, and market expansion opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in an FP&A or a strategic finance role in retail, hospitality or services, preferably including 1-2 years of experience in investment banking.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and experience building complex, dynamic models from scratch.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Proficient in Excel and other financial tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present complex financial data in a clear manner.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to get into the trenches and do the work when needed, while also always holding on to the big picture view
