The Manulife Bank Delivery team is seeking a passionate Senior Product Owner who can drive our digital banking transformation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and customer needs into innovative digital banking solutions. Leverage your technical background to lead product development, ensuring alignment with our digital strategy and customer needs. The Product Owner contributes to the realization of Value Stream strategy, vision, and OKRs by aligning and prioritizing business goals with actionable results.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Clearly define and share the product vision and strategy with the squad, collaborators, customers, and technology partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and prioritize product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with squads and fintech partners to ensure timely delivery of product features and improvements.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Define and track key product metrics and KPIs to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with the product vision and business goals.
  • Ability to understand the tradeoffs between a technical target state and near-term deliverables.
  • Identify trade-offs to ensure alignment on priorities between the team and collaborators.

Backlog Management

  • Lead the squad in delivering high-value work by owning and leading the backlog.
  • Define hypotheses, run experiments, and analyze data to guide delivery decisions, incorporating feedback from stakeholders, user research, and engineering.
  • Ensure completed user stories meet the definition of done and are understood by all squad members.

Squad Alignment & Communication

  • Provide strategic leadership to deliver business outcomes, inspiring and motivating the team without direct authority.
  • Clearly communicate priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships while encouraging a culture of innovation and creativity.
  • Employ a mentor approach to improve agile practices and apply banking product knowledge to foster progress.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • 5+ years of experience in the digital banking industry
  • Solid understanding of digital banking platforms, FinTech solutions, mobile/web banking apps
  • Degree or equivalent experience" in computer science, information technology, or business-related field
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies preferably in SAFe
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence

Salary range is expected to be between

$74,270.00 CAD - $137,930.00 CAD
