“The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning.”
You will be a part of the AIS, P&IC Primary Engineering team. You will be supporting the project engineers. Project lead engineers to develop project-specific engineering documents and drawings for submission to customers and the documents required for manufacturing of Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS), Power Quality & Industry Components of transmission and sub-transmission systems. You will be an individual contributor who will deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should exhibit good collaborative skills to complete the task. You may also interact with other departments like Secondary engineering, order management, power system study team, Steel structure engineering, Project Management and Production units
Preparation of mechanical design concept and full CAD 3D models using Creo and Windchill. Detailed design and complete detailed 2D drawings.
Develop general arrangement drawings and tender drawings in AutoCAD.
Use Creo to analyze the kinematics mechanisms of Disconnectors for optimized design functionality.
Design of sheet metal parts, cast, and machined metal parts.
Metal forming and manufacturing Process knowledge and optimization.
Design reviews in close communication with other project managers, product engineers, and technical experts
Perform High Voltage Disconnector design and development up to 245 kV.
Basic knowledge of type testing procedures and methodologies is an added advantage.
Apply knowledge of IEEE-C37.30.1 standards to ensure compliance in design and testing.
Contributes to developing strategic technology plans and project portfolios within the organization.
Serves as a subject matter expert on the project, providing guidance to colleagues and more junior team members, acting as a mentor, and sharing lessons learned.
Will develop and maintain design standards for Disconnector products.
Willingness to take direction, Cross Training and Support of other product designs and projects when time permits.
Willingness to shift workday so that it overlaps with United States EST Daylight Savings Time Morning.
Directly responsible for maintaining and updating the documentation for respective projects as per the quality process.

Your background:
Experience in Creo/Windchill is required
Prefer 4-5 years of relevant experience in the design and development of Medium Voltage Indoor AIS Switchgear, with B.E - EEE.
Excellent competence with CAD (Creo, Pro-E), technical drawings, Third Angle Projection, and HVPLM systems is required.
Prefer Experience with North American Design Standards.
Excellent communications skills with an ability to influence both internally and externally.
