PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for ensuring the development, implementation, and sustainment of manufacturing standards that improve the safety, quality, cost, delivery, and performance of manufacturing processes, systems, tools, and equipment. Assign projects, conduct design reviews, and provide technical coaching and guidance to Manufacturing Engineering staff to help develop their skills and ensure execution of short-term and long-term projects. Serve as a key contributor and leader of projects in capacity analysis, productivity improvement, and cross-functional teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze job assignments, determine estimated time to complete each assignment and measure performance using timelines and objective data.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure personnel follow sound engineering practices, and safety and reliability are key components in every design.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of conventional and NC/CNC manufacturing equipment, manufacturing technologies, time standards techniques, cost quoting and work in these areas as required.
  • Conduct studies, perform capital research, serve on special teams and provide support for Global Sourcing, Continuous Improvement, Value Streams, Engineering, or other initiatives as required.
  • Assist in the development of a safe working environment through the use of occupational safety and health standards including ergonomic principles.
  • Facilitate the performance management process for all direct reports including technical effectiveness and career development opportunities.
  • Improve employee engagement while driving performance accountability with direct reports through the utilization of situational leadership.
  • Provide a work environment which adheres to all compliance and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Solid understanding of current environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
