As an integral part of the Global Revenue Assurance team, the Revenue Recognition Analyst provides leadership, development and application of consistent revenue recognition rules, policies and assists in documenting accounting guidance for DXC's revenue generating activities on a global basis with specific reference to US GAAP. You will ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding policy, contracts, systems, flow of transactions, internal controls and recommending efficiency and effectiveness improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to DXC Policy & US GAAP. ASC 606 and 842.
  • Review customer arrangements to determine proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards.
  • Partner with company stakeholders, including Pricing, Finance, and Contracts/Legal teams to assist internally in the structuring of contracts to support revenue recognition objectives.
  • Prepare revenue treatment documentation checklist for qualifying transactions.
  • Working with controllership and auditors on acceptance of the revenue dispositions.
  • Provide revenue recognition training to stakeholders.
  • Support strategic initiatives and other ad hoc projects to the company in the area of revenue assurance.
  • Support existing deals with Revenue Recognition queries.
  • Provide coaching to increase revenue recognition awareness.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Degree with a focus in business or accounting; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 5-7 years of finance experience, with a focus in revenue recognition (ASC 606).
  • Experience with lease accounting ASC 842 is a plus.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and ability to research relevant Accounting Standards Codification (ASC).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent business application/spreadsheet skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Superior teamwork skills, as well as ability to operate independently.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Good project management skills.
