About the role

What you need to know:

AIG is looking for a driven and dedicated individual to assume a leading role within FSDM’s Report Enablement team. The candidate will focus on creating data driven solutions used across Finance and shared with leaders throughout the organization to help optimize expenses and increase bottom line results for businesses across General Insurance. This role will be responsible for understanding Financial data and their sources, and how this information can be transformed and displayed to produce valuable insights through robust front end analytical solutions. This individual will be required to lead various workstreams within the AIG Next program, and will be afforded the opportunity to help shape various aspects of the go forward data and reporting strategy.

Other tasks will include:

  • Act as a leader while building key relationships across Finance, Data Office, IT, etc.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to help identify opportunities for report automation and optimization
  • Synthesize output and identify ways to streamline current processes for effective and impactful data delivery   

What we’re looking for:

  • Expertise in data sourcing, transformation (ETL) and delivery
  • Proficient with query and scripting languages including SQL, Python, R, C#.Net, or HTML
  • Database experience including Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server, Postgres
  • Ability to create automation scripts to streamline processes  
  • Experience with front end Business Intelligence solutions (ex. SAC, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Exposure to Version Control and Documentation tools like GIT and Confluence    
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate clearly to a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Adept at analysis and problem solving
  • Ability to analyze and create and interpret business and functional data and reporting requirements
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high performing environment

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA Degree (MS preferred) preferably in Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Math or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of insurance industry or financial services experience
  • Minimum 3 or more years of experience with data analysis, preparation, and reporting- including experience with large data sets.
