Summary:

ZipRecruiter is looking for a passionate and experienced leader to join our Decision Science team. The Decision Science team applies science and quantitative methods to support key product decisions and actionable insight. As the Sr. Manager, Decision Science for marketplace optimization, you will partner with cross-functional teams to build optimal solutions for a two-sided marketplace.  This is a highly visible role, supporting key areas of the product and business.  

Key Focuses:

  • Effectively lead team to deliver results through data science, analytics, modeling, and experimentation. Key focus areas include marketplace ranking, monetization, and supply & demand.
  • Regularly lead weekly and monthly meetings. Effectively communicate findings and complex topics to all levels of management.  
  • Influence your stakeholders and executives to make better product decisions. Be willing to tell uncomfortable truths. Back your suggestions by demonstrating strong product and business sense.
  • Build clear and compelling data visualizations so that your stakeholders can analyze product health and monitor marketplace performance.
  • Work in a fast-paced and result-driven environment. Meet deadlines and regularly deliver accurate results under quick turnaround times 
  • Mentor and train team members to deliver to expectations. Provoke new and deep thinking in your team. Level up their understanding of our product data.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, computer science, statistics, or economics (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of applied experience in the areas of data/decision science, analytics, modeling data engineering, and/or other technical field and 4+ years of people management experience 
  • Experience designing experiments, testing, and utilizing statistical principles to inform business decisions
  • Applied experience with causal inference and probabilistic models  to support A/B testing
  • Advanced SQL knowledge
  • Proficient experience with statistical programming in R or Python

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as mathematics, computer science, operations 
  • Experience supporting employer marketplace products or other two-sided marketplaces.
  • Expert knowledge in the areas of ML, Statistics, and/or data engineering.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $162,500-$257,500. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and the range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations.

Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission, or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
