We currently looking for a EHS Manager - Netherlands to join our Established Pharmaceuticals Division based in Weesp and Olst.
Primary Job Function
Defines EPO’s EHS & Security related programs at the EPD Operations in the Netherlands manufacturing sites.
Through an understanding of Division EHS operations, regulatory action and developing science in the Netherlands, this function identifies and manages potential environmental, occupational health and safety risks and liabilities to the Division for the plants located in the Netherlands.
Direct responsible and accountable for the EHS performance and compliance of the Olst and Weesp Sites.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Protect employees from injury and illness through prevention of accidents and occupational exposures at plant assigned plants.
Protect the environment from damage by controlling the release to the environment of waste and process emissions as per applicable local regulations in plants assigned.
Protect company facilities and capital assets through implementation of effective loss control programs at plant assigned.
Minimize Abbott regulatory exposure through implementation of effective compliance programs and assurance review at plants in plants assigned.
Protect Abbott’s public image through prevention of incidents that may result in employee injury, environmental damage or community harm in plants assigned.
Identify potential EHS liabilities and effectively manage the same in assigned plants.
Implement EHS programs proactively to establish Abbott as a premier health care company in the region.
Ensure that regional conditions are represented during the revision of standards / formation of new standards.
Integrate Corporate and Divisional EHS Initiatives in the highly regulated context given by European EHS regulations and requirements.
Manage the Major Accident Risk associated with the complexity of the chemical operations run in Olst and Weesp manufacturing sites and defines proper mitigation measures to protect our people, assets but also the communities located nearby these sites.
Coordinate Environment, Sustainability, Security, Facilities and Utilities teams and manage contractors related to these subjects in order to ensure Abbott business continuity and to improve overall site performance.

Direct Reports: 05 (Weesp/ Olst EHS Staff)
Indirect Reports: 05 (EHS Systems and Environment team)
Position Accountability/Scope:
EHS performance and compliance for 2 manufacturing plants. Head count in these affiliates is approx 900 employees. The 2 manufacturing plants are strategic for the EPD business by producing global products for all markets around the globe.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Requires a graduate degree in EHS/Engineering or related field preferred. Must be fluent in English. Basic knowledge of Dutch, German or French is preferred.
At least 7 years of experience in environmental, health or the safety profession with increasingly responsible positions. Strong technical background in environmental, health and safety and has ability to be proficient in the other area to be well rounded and handle a variety of EHS issues.
