Advisory

  • Assess impact of new/changes in AML/CFT regulations issued by regulators such as BNM as well as other overseas regulatory authorities.
  • Track completion of activities to comply with new/changes in AML/CFT regulations.
  • Assist to compile the feedback on consultation papers to assess ability to comply and raise operational issues to the regulators on AML/CFT matters.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests on AML/CFT matters initiated by regulators.

Policy, SOP and Process Review

  • Review SOPs issued by business/support units in relation to AML/CFT matters.
  • Draft the Group AML/CFT Policy and SOP on ongoing basis (including overseas operations’ AML/CFT Policies and Manuals).
  • Review AML/CFT due diligence when on-boarding high risk customers/counter-parties.

Management of High-Risk Customers/Counterparties

  • Review AML/CFT Questionnaires of correspondent banks/counter-parties on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop Group’s AML/CFT Questionnaire to be in line with international best practices.

Investigation/Monitoring

  • Investigate alerts generated by the automated AML/CFT detection system as well as internally generated suspicious transaction reports submitted by business/support units and/or branches/centres.
  • Assist in processing the handling of high-risk customers during the on-boarding and/or ongoing review of customers for senior management’s decision.

Analysis

  • Review and assess latest typologies and modus operandi to ensure that red flags are identified during investigation.
  • Provide feedback/input on training materials as well as periodic review AML/CFT risk scenarios and parameters/thresholds of the AML/CFT detection system.

Who are we looking out for:

  • A candidate with at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree in Finance/Banking/Actuarial Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a banking or financial institution with specialization in compliance or legal risk.
  • Possess knowledge of consumer banking products and services as well as regulations governing the consumer banking business and products will be an Good written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with people at different levels.
  • Possess good business sense, strong analytical skills and able to work under minimum supervision.
  • PC literate with knowledge in Microsoft Office Appliances.
