As a Director of Strategy, ANZ in our Strategy & Corporate Development team, you will own strategic planning and delivery for the ANZ region. 

Interesting problems you’ll get to solve: 

Strategic Planning  & Execution

  • Lead Zip’s ANZ strategic planning cycle including facilitating executive level strategy workshops, conducting interviews, performing desktop research and analysis to inform Zip’s Strategic Plan
  • Work closely with the ANZ Executive Team to define 3 year, annual and quarterly plans and drive the development of strategic initiatives, goal setting, resource allocation
  • Partner with Finance to align the annual budget with strategic initiatives, and input into long range financial planning and forecasting
  • Work with Treasury to input into Zip’s capital management strategy, and prepare supporting materials for debt investor sessions and treasury requirements 
  • Monitor, track and report on the performance and progress of key strategic initiatives, including providing recommendations to the Global Executive Team on key risks and opportunities
  • Own the input of data and operational metrics as required for investor presentations and required ASX reporting (e.g. quarterlies)
  • Build and review investment cases and perform analysis to back key strategic, financial, and operational decisions

Operating Environment Analysis

  • Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking and trend forecasting to identify opportunities and threats in the financial services industry to drive informed decision making
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends, providing guidance to senior leadership on implications and opportunities.

Cross Collaboration

  • Serve as a key advisor to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations on strategic decisions and initiatives
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure alignment, accountability and delivery of strategic priorities

Reporting and Communication

  • Continue to improve the operating rhythm of the business to ensure efficient flow of information across all levels of the organisation, (including the board) and alignment at a regional and group level
  • Coordinate updates on the execution of strategic priorities/initiatives and financial performance across all geographies for ANZ ExCo, the Global Executive Team and Board reporting
  • Lead the development of data and materials and strategic narrative for internal/external communication of Zip’s strategic priorities

Commercial and Growth 

  • Assist Chief Strategy & Corporate Development Officer in identifying and executing on next horizon opportunities, including partnership and inorganic growth initiatives
  • Evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, and strategic alliances to support growth objectives and expand Zip’s market presence
  • Support the enablement of long term growth and strategy execution of Zip ANZ through researching potential partner opportunities and options to utilise/monetise Zip’s existing assets

What you'll bring to the team

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in fintech / payments or consumer lending sectors
  • Experience in leading strategy and operations functions (in house / or consulting house)
  • Ability to influence and drive outcomes from senior leaders across the business
  • Deep understanding and experience across financial services products and customer experience
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a drive to deliver meaningful impacts
  • A knack for distilling complex ideas into clear, actionable plans
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal to senior audiences, including Senior Executives and Board Level
  • Passion and strong attention to detail with a high quality bar
  • Experience in scoping and managing complex projects to time, cost and quality
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Ability to connect the dots across various data points and synthesise information for informed decision making
