Job Position Posting:

The Accounting Specialist will be part of the Global Market Controllership team in the market and will be a highly collaborative Finance team member liaising with the In-Market Controller, Hyderabad CoE, Accenture and Statutory CoE Team.

The successful applicant must possess an extremely high attention to detail and be able to work collaboratively with key internal and external customers. They will need to demonstrate flexibility, be open-minded and adaptable to changing business needs and requests. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex financial information, be an effective decision maker and planner and be able to offer and deliver superior business solutions. The candidate must have ability to manage multiple tasks, be well organized, and have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding deadlines.  Strong project management and leadership skills are very desirable.  Strong, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are vital.  The successful candidate must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and work with minimal supervision.

The Accounting Specialist will also be responsible for signing the company’s Financial Statements as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (applicable for Colombia). This requires holding a valid CPA license and ensuring that all financial reports comply with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage specific month-end (and year-end) related activities per Month End Close Timetable. Understand the overall closing schedule and assignment of tasks during the close and their respective deadlines and dependencies. Escalate potential risks in delays to the month-end tasks.

  • Support the demands from internal clients, such as the FP&A Team, Tax CoE

  • Understand the statutory requirements and reporting for Colombia and Peru

  • Elaborate on the cash flow analysis in connection with the Country Controller

  • Executes ad-hoc projects initiated by Country Controller and Regional Controller

  • Liaise with the centers of excellence in Hyderabad, Revenue, and Statutory, and with the Accenture Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business. CPA required; MBA a plus

  • Minimum 5 years of diversified experience in accounting or finance

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP is required; knowledge of IFRS is a plus

  • Experience with audit and year-end close process

  • SAP and Hyperion experience is a plus

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, Intermediate (minimum)
