The Learning Advisor Lead is responsible for all matters related to the learning and development needs of the Internal Audit organization. The Learning Advisor Lead will be required to develop an in-depth understanding of how Learning, Development and Engagement contributes to achieving the objectives of the function and address those needs via leveraging existing solutions and the development of targeted learning solutions that are aligned to Internal Audits strategic priorities.
The Learning Advisor Lead is responsible for developing and executing the skills assessment process, developing a learning curriculum, and delivering against various program to support the global department. This role is also responsible for liaising with various Human Resources and Communications teams across Citi, developing a thorough understanding of IA strategic priorities which includes partnering with key business and HR stakeholders to consult on learning needs, conducting thorough needs analysis and developing the learning strategy, delivering/facilitating learning, working with external partners to deliver learning, managing end-to-end project management for learning and development initiatives, and measuring impact.
Responsibilities
- Leads the skills assessment process to identify potential learning needs and ensure connectivity with IA's learning curriculum.
- Works on the entire lifecycle of learning from design through to delivery and evaluation for a range of global programs including learning for all global team members, new joiners, and role-specific programs.
- Understands relevant Internal Audit, Practices, and Learning and Development priorities and opportunities for capability building, performance improvement, cultural development, and overall impact.
- In partnership with other Learning Advisors, provides management and consulting to the Internal Audit team partners and proactively identifies and prioritizes the L&D opportunities to support successful business outcomes.
- Works with other learning advisors to advise and guide the analysis of current versus future state gaps and identifies root causes to determine the appropriate solution and how success should be measured.
- Helps to market, evaluate, and communicate the impact of initiatives led by the Internal Audit team.
- Monitors and communicates progress with other learning colleagues as well as HR partners and navigates any variation in expectations with them.
- Collaborates with colleagues across HR to provide integrated experience for the Internal Audit team.
- In partnership with other learning advisors, implements the strategy for consistently measuring the effectiveness of training.
- Stays abreast to latest external market trends and anticipates their impact on future capability requirements for the Internal Audit team.
- Stays current with newest technologies for digital and adaptive/personalized learning and drives innovation and creativity within all learning programs.
- Works with subject matter experts to design high quality, needs based, learning programs that adheres to Citi Standards and policies.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Key Competencies and Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in Learning and Development, within the Financial Services industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of risk and controls including the audit function is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently and operate with high standards within tight timeframes.
- Strong ability to advise and consult with all levels of stakeholders including senior leaders in the function and more broadly across Citi.
- Highly adaptable and positive about change and ambiguity.
- Strong experience in a related role with extensive experience in business, functional and people management, with proven abilities in taking responsibility for executing concurrently on a portfolio of high-quality deliverables according to strict timetables.
- Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views. This individual must be an articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an energetic, charismatic and approachable style
- Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal audit and senior management and self-confidence to drive decisions across the various IA teams.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.
