The Assistant Director of IT's primary responsibility is to support the Director of IT and provide leadership to a local team of IT professionals and support all hotel technical services and infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of IT, this position requires a progressive leader who can successfully and strategically support multiple projects in a fast-paced hotel.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Support the Director of IT in overseeing the efficient operation, availability, and security of all user endpoints, servers, and all other technology Infrastructure.
- Oversee the monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for all user endpoints and servers.
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of all hardware, software, and licenses.
- Oversee local systems backups, ensuring all critical data is transferred to backup servers without errors or omissions. Maintain current system images of all server-level endpoints. Perform restoration tests on local servers to ensure data is protected and functional.
- Provide subject matter expertise for hotel business technologies, including PMS, POS, High-Speed Internet, FTG/VOD, Telephony, and PMS interfaces.
- Maintain the condition of Technology Rooms up to defined standards.
- Partner with Regional and Corporate IT Leadership Teams.
- Participate in the planning and request of IT Operating and Capital Budgets.
- Provisioning of user roles, rights, and access to business applications.
- Interface and communicate effectively across all peer groups for both application and technical areas.
- Provide oversight for incidents, change management, and control for hotel.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate policies & procedures and legal requirements related to Hardware & software installation, use, and licensing agreements.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Server Infrastructure - Hardware and Software.
- Knowledge of User Endpoints, HW/SW - Desktops, Mobile Devices, and Peripherals.
- Knowledge of Networking systems including Switches, Routers, and Access Points.
- Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Services including Directory Services, DNS, and DHCP.
- Knowledge of PMS and related interfaces.
- Knowledge of Retail and F&B POS Systems.
- Excellent problem and resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Virtualization and Hyper Converged Technologies.
- BS/BA or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years as a Manager of IT for a large, full-service hotel.
- Project Management Experience.
Education:
- 4 Year Degree or equivalent.
- 5 Years of experience at a large fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Relevant Technical and Business Certifications
