About the Role:
A Gas Engineer within our Spennymoor branch will support residents with reactive repairs across our portfolio of properties working on a planned route this will include carrying service repairs and assisting with any breakdowns and new installs.
The role of a gas engineer encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safety and efficiency of gas systems. The primary duties include performing gas service and repairs, with a particular focus on boiler repairs and conducting annual gas safety checks to comply with regulatory standards.
In addition to these core tasks, the ideal candidate should possess a qualification in air source heat pumps, which, while not mandatory, is highly desirable and would enhance their capability to handle a broader range of heating systems.
The technician will be responsible for addressing repairs and breakdowns promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to service. Regular maintenance tasks are also a key part of the role, requiring a proactive approach to prevent potential issues before they arise.
Annual checks are a critical component of the job, involving thorough inspections of the flue system, which is often located in the loft. This requires the technician to access and inspect these areas to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely. Additionally, the role involves accessing gas meters to perform necessary inspections and ensure accurate readings.
Overall, this position demands a comprehensive understanding of gas systems, a commitment to maintaining high safety standards, and the ability to perform detailed inspections and repairs efficiently. The technician must be adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues swiftly to maintain the reliability of gas services.
You will be responsible for going into lofts and confined spaces and to participate in call out cover if and when required to ensure contract compliance & service user satisfaction for emergency repairs.
