How will you make a difference?
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for developing our next generation of Energy Storage products for locomotive and mining applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in electromechanical systems and/or battery packaging. This engineer will work with other subsystems and systems, develop requirements, provide system level packaging solutions and safety strategies. This Engineer will also collaborate with customer facing and sourcing teams to develop a roadmap for future battery technologies, services, and reliability support strategies.
What do we want to know about you?
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree.
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on design experience
Experience interpreting and using standards and regulations
What will your typical day look like?
Lead design and development efforts for current products, including battery packs and thermal management systems
As the Subject Matter Expert provide technical leadership to the team, mentor junior members
Drive project initiatives across a matrixed organization, communicate progress cross functionally and to all levels of the organization including C-suite
Develop long term strategic relationships with suppliers and industry groups
Collaborate with product development and leadership teams to develop strategic plans for Energy Storage
Collaborate with service and reliability teams to develop customer support strategy and develop cost optimal reliability solutions.
Identify cost saving opportunities
Perform detailed design analysis (FEA, Thermal Models, Bolted Joints, Tolerance stack ups, Design reviews)
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
