What you'll do

In this key role, you’ll build effective relationships with stakeholders, both directly and via the project team, to ensure the timely delivery of solutions which support the business. You’ll also make sure that the reputation of the organisation is built, safeguarded, and kept foremost in mind, while interacting with all stakeholders.

We’ll look to you to drive and deliver architectural and functional improvements that will have a positive impact on our technology estate and business and ensure compliance and participate in the definition of appropriate principles and best-practice frameworks specific to the role.

In addition, you’ll:

• Make sure that work done is aligned to the principles of software development within the organisation
• Set the strategic direction of the team, supported by the senior technical members
• Drive and contribute to the technology strategy roadmap
• Understand and incorporate requirements originating from the programmes in which the project team is involved
• Influence delivery plans and coordinate delivery across multiple projects and deliverables
• Encourage the team to learn and understand their business area and propose technical training that would benefit employees

The skills you'll need

To thrive in this role, you’ll need a background of delivering software in a service oriented architecture or micro-services paradigm with knowledge of the key phases of software delivery lifecycles and software development methodologies.

We’ll expect you to have good knowledge of technical architecture and the functionality of applications used to support the business along with experience of working in a dynamic environment often with shifting priorities.

You’ll also need:

• Experience in leading and managing development teams
• Experience in React, .Net Core and experience in SQL, Data Modelling
• Exposure to Cloud implementation strategies
• The ability to quickly understand and be familiar with complex systems
• Good stakeholder management and influencing skills, and the ability to clearly communicate at all levels
• Strong knowledge of project finances and reporting with the ability to manage and clearly escalate risks and issues, with mitigation strategies in place
• Project Management experience or qualifications with knowledge of banking products, output, or infrastructure
