The below job summary and responsibilities reflects the duties of the Sr Electric Standards Analyst, or Electric Standards Analyst, levels will differ as more skills and/or experience will be required.  The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.

Position Summary

Lead in the design, development and implementation of solutions for the delivery system needs of Xcel Energy. Coordinate team efforts in the development of standards and policies that optimize regulatory requirements and operational performance. Partner with operating, engineering and Supply Chain leaders to form strategic alliances that jointly recommend, design and implement policies and procedures that support common organizational goals. This position supports departments throughout Xcel Energy.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Independently plans, directs and performs operational analysis and life-cycle costs within the business unit. Strongly influence decisions that balance operational performance with financial performance and against risk management. Based on analysis results, provide business unit leadership with recommended procedural improvements and strategic policies across all operating areas.

  • Lead and drive committees, teams, and subject matter experts to develop comprehensive and cost effective standards and secure maximum cooperation and buy-in from user groups. Liaison to corporate and/or business unit engineering and operations areas to ensure consistent interpretation and enforcement of policies, regulatory rules, and other policies and guidelines for the business.

  • Partner with operating areas on issues of compliance, Company standards, and strategic policies. Interpret regulations and standards and issue policies for construction, operation, maintenance, and engineering of Company assets.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies in the industry that add value to the life of system assets. Provide recommendations for use and implementation of new technologies based on life-cycle costs. Ensure system changes are incorporated and communicated effectively.


Minimum Requirements
 

Salary Range: $61,500 - $87,500

BS/BA degree in accounting or other business related field or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Minimum five years experience in a Regulated Environment e.g. Medium voltage Electric Operations, Electric Distribution Operations, Electric Distribution Engineering, Design & Layout or Auditing/Process Assessment.

Salary Range: $69,700 - $99,100

B.S. or B.A. degree in business or related technical field or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge required. Minimum of 10 years experience in a broad utility industry environment, such as material and design standards, Supply Chain and standard programs. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required in developing and giving presentations for leadership and various audiences. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and operating systems (PassPort, OMS, CRS, People soft, etc.) are desired. Occasional travel required.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $61,500.00 to $99,100.00 per year
