What we need 

Symbotic is seeking a Cross-functional Project Manager responsible for leading the coordination and execution of multiple departments project initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management with A deep understanding of Obeya principles and practices. Oversee all aspects of project management, from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgetary requirements. You will collaborate with stakeholders from various functional areas, communicating project goals and expectations, while driving cross-functional teamwork to achieve project success. Your leadership, communication, and organizational skills will be essential in facilitating collaboration and overcoming challenges to deliver high-quality results. 

 

What we do 

Our Project Management team plays a critical role in technical automation projects, ensuring that the project is successfully executed, on time, and within budget. They serve as a key liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and management, ensuring that the project is executed smoothly and successfully, meeting its objectives and delivering value to the organization. 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines. 

  • Implement and lead projects utilizing the Obeya methodology from initiation to completion. 

  • Facilitate regular Obeya meetings to review project progress, identify obstacles, and make data-driven decisions. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, and develop comprehensive plans, timelines, and budgets 

  • Engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and solicit feedback on project progress and outcomes, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary. 

  • Act as a liaison between project teams, senior management, and external partners to ensure alignment and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency gains, and value creation across projects and workflows. 

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging Obeya methodology to capture lessons learned, implement best practices, and optimize project processes. 

  • Proactively identify potential risks, constraints, and dependencies affecting project delivery, and lead cross-functional teams in resolving issues and adapting to changes. 

  • Drive the implementation of Obeya Project Management Methodology across projects by establishing and maintaining Obeya rooms for visual management, facilitating transparency, communication, and decision-making, and train team members on Obeya methodologies and tools. 

 

What you’ll need  

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Project Managment or related field. 

  • Minimum of 12 years project management, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional projects from initiation to completion. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in Obeya methodology, including visual management, lean principles, and continuous improvement practices.  

  • Experience in commissioning or testing of automated systems, such as ASRS or packaging lines. 

  • Experience in managing a general contractor responsible for construction of the site. 

  • Experience in distribution and material handling systems preferred. 

  • Experience with managing multiple projects with cross-functional collaboration ranging from medium to large capital projects. 

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and motivate cross-functional project teams. 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions. 

  • Experience with high level scheduling and proficiency with MS Office. 

  • Familiar with scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera) and earned value management systems. 

 

Our Environment 

  • Up to 15% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. 

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
