Role purpose

The key purpose of the Market Retail Manager is to bring The Market Pavilion precinct to life everyday in line with the highest standard of operational excellence. Managing all aspects of the precincts operational strategy, this role is responsible for Food Concierge services, eventing & activations, flexible space allocation and the overall curation of experience in line with the brand promise.

This role is also responsible for managing all retailer relationships within The Market Pavilion precinct with a high level of attention to detail to ensure our retail partners execute best-in-class operational and presentation standards at all times. This is not exclusive to food retailers within the precinct.

Please note, the work roster for this role is Tuesday to Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement processes and operating procedures to run The Market Pavilion precinct to the highest standard every day in relation to cleaning & hygiene, retail execution standards, activations, and retailer initiatives

  • Operate Food Concierge services, including but not limited to, food storage, curb-side delivery, meal & shopping planning, food inspiration and personal shopping services (in conjunction with the existing hands-free shopping service)

  • Manage the activation spaces through maximised use of the adaptable infrastructure to provide seasonal and first-to-market product and engaging customer offers utilising existing retail partners and the casual mall leasing team

  • Build professional and mutually beneficial relationships with our retail and commercial partners and gain insights into current trends and category trading performance 

  • Work with our contract partner to manage common seating areas including coordinating sustainability programs to divert +95% of waste from landfill

  • Influence retail partners to implement best-in-class sustainability programs in relation to compostable packaging and diversion from landfill

  • Promptly address any logistics issues with retail partners in relation to delivery trolleys or infrastructure being left in public areas

  • Provide support to tenants with a view to maximise their businesses success while finding solutions to any controllable impediments to achieve this outcome. Maintain centre controlled debt in line with targets for core tenant relationships

  • Actively contribute to the creation and delivery of relevant communications via the retail and commercial portals with a focus on curating food and service offers 

  • Maintain accurate data and information and create management reports as required to demonstrate performance

  • Contribute to the development of the annual retailer engagement strategy

  • Execute strategies to ensure retailers trade for all agreed operating hours.

Capability and Experience

  • An enthusiastic foodie who loves to maintain connections to the food industry, understands seasonal product, loves to cook and is passionate about sharing their knowledge with others

  • A quality leader of people with a record of curating an inclusive and customer focused working environment 

  • Relevant industry experience that may have been gained in the hospitality or tourism industry focused on food and customer experiences

  • Strong connections and a network within the food and restaurant industry

  • Demonstrated experience building professional relationships and managing stakeholders with varied needs

  • An excellent communicator with the ability to leverage relationships to deliver best in class outcomes in a challenging and fast-paced environment

  • You will be known for your capability to problem solve in high pressure situations and have a proven record of accomplishment of delivering results through collaboration with others
