Summary

We are looking for an influential thought leader with a passion for process excellence to join Owens & Minor as Senior Director, HR Strategy & Transformation. This is a critical role responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives, leading transformational change initiatives, driving organizational effectiveness and enhancing the Owens & Minor teammate experience. You will be counted on to solve problems and lead through change while proactively anticipating and developing strategies for today and tomorrow. Key responsibilities include overseeing the HR strategic planning process, implementing transformational changes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

How You Will Impact:

  • Lead the development of a global HR strategy and initiatives, aligning HR operating model and practices with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR transformation roadmap, incorporating process improvements, system enhancements and change management strategies.
  • Successful execution of cross-functional projects, monitoring work status, and delivering regular updates to leadership on project status. Ensures scope, schedule, budget and quality align with project targets.
  • Monitor HR performance metrics and analytics, identifying trends and making recommendations for process improvements and enhanced HR service delivery.
  • Oversee the HR budget, partnering with HR leaders to ensure maximum return on investment aligned to global strategy.
  • Lead efforts to build executive presentations that effectively communicate strategy, expected outcomes, and progress against goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior HR leadership and support efforts to consider a broad range of options while evaluating risk & reward for each.

Experiences and Skills for Success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 13 or more years of relevant professional program/project management experience.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies; certification preferred (LEAN, Six Sigma).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex global HR transformation projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving strategic initiatives and managing complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of HR systems, technologies, and data analytics.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities and complex projects simultaneously and hold people accountable to deliver results
  • Self-starter, can work independently and in a team – able to set tone and convey a sense of urgency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to develop audience appropriate presentation and deliverables that are compelling, understandable and succinct
  • Capable of identifying barriers to achieving project goals and successfully solving them by working with appropriate business stakeholders and leaders
  • Strong organization, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills and abilities
  • Ability to manage teams across multiple related disciplines and across geographical locations
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
