This is an exciting opportunity to work as an integral part of the Culture and Conduct team, and positively impact employee experience across the Financial Conduct Authority.

The Human Resources (HR) Division is made up of a number of expert service teams whose role it is to help the FCA deliver its people priorities.

This role sits within the Culture and Conduct Department, which plays a key role in creating a brilliant employee experience and an inclusive working culture for our people.  

The Department covers core functions around:

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - delivery of the FCA’s aspirations to foster a diverse and inclusive working environment that supports colleagues to be their authentic selves at work
  • Employee Voice and Engagement: Creating an exceptional employee experience through ensuring that our colleague voice channels enable all of our people to feel they are involved and can tell us what matters to them most
  • HR Business Partnering: Delivering a strategic HR Business Partner model which is insight led and adds value to the organisation
  • Community engagement – leading our approach to how we engage with our local communities

What you will be doing

This an exciting opportunity to work as an integral part of the Culture and Conduct Department. You will play a leading role in ensuring that colleague voice is integral to the way we work in FCA through working collaboratively with our Staff Consultative Committee and Diversity Networks.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with our Staff Consultative Committee to ensure that employee voice is effectively heard in the organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring that our processes and approach enable FCA to successfully represent the needs of colleagues across the organisation
  • Leading key projects and work related to the operational running of the Staff Consultative Committee, for example elections processes and reviews of core governance documents
  • Leading the ongoing development of our HR looking forward to ensure that we engage and consult with the Staff Consultative Committee and Diversity Networks on key matters impacting our people
  • Leading the relationship with our Diversity Network Groups to leverage their position as strategic influencers and partners and showcase their work effectively. This includes maintaining strategic oversight of Network plans to ensure alignment with our wider DE&I Programme, working with the Networks to oversee financial spend and chairing our Diversity Network Forum
  • Organising events and communications in partnership with the networks and DE&I team to raise Network profile
  • Ongoing development and maintenance of all supporting governance documents related to Networks which ensure the effective operation of our groups
  • Working across the wider team as required to support particular peaks in activity, for example the employee survey. This provides a great opportunity to build wider relationships and develop your skill set across a range of HR disciplines

The skills and experience you will have  

Minimum   

We are a signatory to the Government’s Disability Confident scheme. This means that we will offer an interview to disabled candidates entering under the scheme, who best meet the minimum criteria for a role.  

  • Demonstrable evidence of stakeholder management, including at a senior level and managing complex stakeholder relationships
  • Evidence of managing projects using project management techniques
  • Experience of working with staff forums, trade unions and/or networks

Essential

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in organisations (you are not required to be a DEI expert but must demonstrate sound understanding of DE&I)
  • Strong communications skills
