Lead Accountant

Land O’Lakes is searching for an Accounting Lead for its wholly owned subsidiary, Curious Plot advertising agency. This position requires a flexible individual who is results-oriented and has excellent communication and analytical skills. You'll be responsible for building a strong business partnership to manage the accounting and finance activities of the business.

This role is located at our Arden Hills, MN corporate office (hybrid work arrangement each week)

The responsibilities of the Accounting Lead will consist of, but will not be limited to, the following:

• Analyze and communicate financial results with Curious Plot executive leadership (CEO/COO) on a consistent basis; provide variance analysis and budget details to Land O’Lakes on a monthly basis

• Oversee the month-end close process, which includes: establishing timelines for deliverables; preparing and reviewing journal entries; reviewing account reconciliations; and providing management reporting.

• Team with business and technology partners to improve efficiencies and improve the control environment, specifically related to the accounting for revenue, unbilled revenue and receivables.

• Prepare the long-range plan and forecast for the business.

• Ensure accounting controls are in place and operating effectively, and lead efforts to periodically test controls. Own maintenance of internal control documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting; CPA desired

• 3-5 years of relevant/related work experience

• Microsoft office experience including advanced excel and knowledge of ERP systems

Competencies:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under strict deadlines

• Strong process design, system understanding and project implementation skills

• Ability to understand complex transactions in the general ledger

• Strong analytical skills to assess variances and trends and ability to summarize information for management review

• Attention to detail and accuracy
