Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the Accountable Reporting team in Seguin, TX. This position will provide the business with business unit financial reporting, analysis/insights into the financial results, and support the quarterly financial forecasting cycles. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your work will be highly visible at many levels of the company.

What You Will Do:

• Manages a small team and their related workload, prioritizes projects, assigns and reviews work, and controls the daily operating environment.
• Evaluates and reports on staff performance, participates in employee selection, provides career guidance and training direction, complies with personnel practices, and promotes team rewards and successes.
• Accountable for monthly financial reporting and analysis (including review of transactions during month-end close and periodic journal entry submission)
• Provide insights on the financial results to assist management with business decisions
• Development of the annual business plan and quarterly forecasts
• Develop new tools and analytics to streamline financial analysis and provide enhanced decision support
• Support ad-hoc analysis, executive level presentations, and various other reporting requirements

What You Have:

• Education/Experience:  This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field and 8+ years of job-related experience.
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high level of precision
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
• Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
• Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• Familiarity with PowerBI
• MBA, Certified Accountant (CPA or CMA), or master’s degree in a business-related field

• The position is located in Seguin, TX
• This role is a full time, hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
