Pay Details:

$74,000 - $139,000 USD

Job Description:

The Quality Engineer II (Fraud Performance Management Business Outcome Testing) plays a key supporting role in test planning, design, and execution supporting US Fraud Performance Management initiatives. The Quality Engineer II, will be using their expert coding knowledge and SQL coding experience to support backend testing for ongoing releases within this space.

Depth & Scope:

  • Advanced knowledge of specific domain and quality engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures

  • Advanced knowledge of coding practices, testing, and debugging to develop and maintain resilient automated test scripts; hands on experience writing automated scripts using industry standard frameworks

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; investigates and analyzes potential solutions to problems

  • Performs complex testing automation autonomously

  • Deep knowledge of in scope TD business and systems, practices, business / organization, Bank standards

  • Strong knowledge in new / advanced techniques and approaches in testing and automation (e.g., BDD, Machine Learning, etc.)

  • Future focused- foresee issues and gaps and identifies industry trends

  • Collaborative team player and ability to play a leadership role in the team

Education & Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Experience:

  • 5 + years of backend testing experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of specific domain and quality engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures
  • Experience in testing Data validation, Data ingestion, and Data Transformation Process (ETL)
  • Expertise in ETL methodology for supporting data extraction, transformations and loading processing using tool like Informatica, Abinitio
  • Strong knowledge in SQL, PL-SQL coding knowledge and experience with backend testing preferred
  • Experienced in designing Test Cases for ETL to compare Source and Target database systems
  • Knowledge in validated the source system data with the staging data using SQL and SQL scripts.
  • Advanced experience working with large datasets & complex SQL queries preferred
  • Expertise in coding practices, testing, and debugging to develop and maintain resilient automated test scripts; hands on experience writing automated scripts using industry standard frameworks
  • Expertise in Test case design, Test Execution and Defect reporting using Jira, JTMF preferred
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD pipeline for Test Automation preferred
  • Plays a key role in developing, documenting, and proactively identifying end-to-end test solution designs and early automation opportunities
  • Works collaboratively with the development team to define and validate user stories, acceptance criteria and Definition of Done (DoD)/Ready (DoR)
  • Applies the principles of behavior/Test Driven Development (BDD/TDD) and focus business outcomes
  • Banking/Fraud domain experience with Web, API and Backend testing preferred
  • Experience in test automation with Selenium or equivalent technologies in Developing automation scripts from the scratch using Java, VBScripts using Eclipse/IntelliJ IDE
  • Familiar with page objects model automation approach, TestNG, Maven, Apache POI, Jenkins File
  • Experience in automation framework such as Hybrid, Keyword and Data Driven
  • Working experience with GitHub, Jenkins for the source code management
  • Experience with API testing using Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Hands on role focused on test automation activities with high level of complexity

  • As a Test Lead for small complexity initiatives, accountable for implementing effective test strategies and plans, test design / development test case automation and test execution to achieve business outcomes

  • Provides QE leadership, direction and feedback throughout the development and design process; provides test development / automation support to ensure that the quality of the intended solution is met

  • Leverages strong knowledge to understand technical solutions to build optimized test approaches, inclusive of the tooling strategy

  • Strong knowledge of test data management to reuse automated test data provisioning capabilities

  • Effectively engineers and leverages tools and Engineering practices (DevOps tools and processes, source code management, Service Virtualization, monitoring tools, etc.)

  • Implements functional and/or non-functional automation frameworks (performance, readiness / reliability testing (ORT), accessibility, security) including script development and execution, and ensures automated tests are integrated into the Continuous Integration (CI), delivery, and testing (CI/CD/CT) pipelines

  • Plays a key role in developing, documenting, and proactively identifying end-to-end test solution designs and early automation opportunities

  • Works collaboratively with the development team to define and validate user stories, acceptance criteria and Definition of Done (DoD) / Ready (DoR)

  • Applies the principles of behavior / Test Driven Development (BDD / TDD) and focus on value driven outcomes

  • Leads Proof of Concepts (POCs)  to evaluate new technologies geared towards better, faster, more secure testing activities (such as Service Virtualization, DevOps, BDD, Test Data Management)

  • Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to quality engineering activities

  • Ensures respective programs/ policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities

  • Collaboratively engages with relevant stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external, to shift from finding defects to proactively preventing defects

  • Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement and automation opportunities within the quality engineering practice

  • Conducts meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using data to draw conclusions, makes recommendations, assesses the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices

  • Identifies opportunities to minimize cost, provides recommendations and/or deliver corresponding strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and to enhance stakeholder experience

  • Conducts test assets reviews to ensure adherence to quality, standards compliance, reusability, and ease of maintenance

  • Monitors service, productivity and assesses efficiency levels within own function and implements continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist

  • Leads / facilitates and/or implements actions / remediation plans to address performance / risk /governance issues

  • Actively manages relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensures alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements

  • Protects the interests of the organization – identifies and manages risks, and escalates nonstandard, high-risk activities as necessary

  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

  • Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
