Case Management functions throughout majority of inpatient units within UMC Health System as well as the Emergency Center. Case Management works closely with Social Services. The attention to detail a nurse can provide along with a strong clinical training are critical components for the Case Manager at UMC Health System. Our focus is Utilization Review with care coordination of our patients and some discharge planning. Our purpose is to provide high quality care through appropriate resource allocation, to assure effective and efficient utilization of hospital facilities and services and help facilitate improving maximum financial strength for the hospital system.
A Case Manager is first a member of the unit of Case Management but will also form a working professional relationship with their designated units to help improve care.
Qualifications
-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
-Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience.
-Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
-Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
-BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
-ACM certification preferred
-Previous Case Management experience preferred
-Previous leadership/management experience preferred
-Proficient typing skills a must
-Conflict management a must
-Ability to trouble shoot/problem-solve a must
-Ability to multi-task with multiple computer systems a must
