JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is looking to add a Consultant – Measurement Systems to our Natural Gas Pipeline team! A successful candidate for this role will have at least 5 years of natural gas measurement experience including strong technical knowledge of currently available measurement technologies such as ultrasonic, Coriolis, and orifice measurement, gas chromatography, L&U investigation strategies, etc. This position will play a key role assisting with the development of our teams’ measurement knowledge, providing in depth investigative support for measurement anomalies, and support our Measurement Engineering team. Analysis
• Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates the volumetric and compositional measurement and flow of pipeline operations.
• Identifies cost efficient and effective measure equipment.
• Troubleshoot poorly performing measurement assets and makes equipment replacement recommendations, system configuration changes, or changes in operating practices.
• Monitors physical LAUF processes to identify imbalances that require investigation or explanation.
• Provides real time 24/7 analysis if needed for volume loss determination calculations using pipeline and facility measurement data via FLOWCAL and other internal analytical data collection programs. .
• Collaborates with and attends meetings with internal and third-party stakeholders to resolve measurement system issues.
• Resolves measurement equipment concerns by identifying the faulty equipment and managing the troubleshooting process.
Commercial Projects
• Collaborates with and attends meetings with internal stakeholders to develop and implement commercial and maintenance funded project plans.
• Provides detailed measurement specifications on equipment needed for engineering cost estimates.
• Provides technical support on equipment design variances based on individual project plans.
• Ensures project plans and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) are accurate and provide solutions based on specific measurement equipment needs.
Standards & Procedures
• Develops, reviews, and modifies measurement standards and procedures.
• Attends industry measurement committee meetings to stay current on the latest measurement practices.
Training
• Acts as a mentor to other members of the measurement team and assists with the development and implementation of a robust measurement training protocol.
Third-Party Inspections
• Witnesses third-party metering inspections and attends lab calibrations of measurement equipment.
• Ensures process and procedure compliance with all applicable industry standards (API, AGA, GPA, etc.).
• Maintains third-party calibration documentation.
Education
Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of job-relevant work experience
Work Experience
5 or more years related work experience preferred
