The Staff Accountant performs accounting activities that are complex and broad in nature, specializing in the general ledger and financial reporting functions.

NOTE: This position is an in-office Mon - Fri opportunity in our Lake Jackson, Texas office.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Perform daily cash reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and business entities
• Prepare accurate, clear, and compliant general ledger account reconciliations that ensure balance sheet integrity
• Assist with the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules to ensure an efficient and timely financial close
• Research and document accounting policies in accordance with GAAP, including drafting memos to support accounting treatment for non‑routine transactions
• Analyze account activity and prepare variance explanations
• Prepare monthly manual journal entries
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation and explanations
• Assist in preparing compliance and regulatory reporting
• Collaborate effectively with internal departments to support smooth operations and resolve issues
• It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employee’s assigned work site. No remote work is available

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

• CPA license or CPA exam eligibility; ideal candidates will be actively pursuing CPA certification
• Public accounting experience
