POSITION DESCRIPTION
Volaris is looking for a M&A Manager. This role is directly responsible for managing acquisition opportunities – this includes valuation, negotiation, due diligence and investment rationale and approvals. This role will report to the Portfolio Manager and will work closely with members of the senior management team to identify, qualify, manage, and execute acquisition opportunities within the global market to meet our capital deployment goals.
The role also involves sourcing and building relationship with new acquisition prospects and developing and maintaining relationships with our existing network of acquisition prospects and intermediaries through telephone calls, emails and from time to time in-person visits.
A successful candidate for this role will have at least 7+ years of relevant M&A experience (financial modeling, due diligence, negotiation, investment approval) with an interest in software businesses and experience in business development (including sourcing, cold-calling, pitching targets).
Experience in Software Companies, M&A, Private Equity, or B2B Start Ups is a plus. This role is ideal for someone who has entrepreneurial spirit, high integrity, excellent communication skills, teamwork and a proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate likes to take initiatives and ownership of work, be resourceful in problem solving and can think independently. The person needs to be detailed oriented, curious, and willing to learn.

Job Description:
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
M&A Execution
- Gather, analyze, and present target company financial information
- Manage acquisition transactions from initial evaluation through to integration
- Responsible for financial modeling, due diligence, negotiation, investment approval and post-close monitoring for multiple M&A transactions per year
- Manage the acquisition team including other M&A professionals and cross functional experts (IT, technology, HR, Legal, Finance) on each transaction
Business Development
- Identify vertical market software businesses that meet our strategic criteria and specific metrics, and add new prospects to our proprietary database of industry contacts and continuously manage the pipeline
- Engage owners, shareholders, and other stakeholders in meaningful dialogues
- Nurture leads regularly and over long timelines, helping to progress prospective targets through the pipeline
- Work closely with our M&A business development team to ensure acquisition opportunities are being effectively nurtured and handled
- Plan, develop, and conduct prospecting campaigns through LinkedIn, email, calling, attendance at trade shows, and in-person meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, in Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field is preferred but not required
- 5+ years of experience in business/corporate development, investment banking at a boutique firm, PE firm or B2B start up
- High curiosity and drive to connect with business owners and learn their stories
- Strong telephone communication skills and capable of establishing and building rapport remotely
- Solid understanding of company financial information
- Solid experience in financial modeling
- Solid experience in Excel and PowerPoint
