Job Summary:
The Event Security Lead is responsible for the safety & security of T-Mobile Center patrons, employees, and assets. Responsible for the performance & conduct of all security officers assigned to the watch.
Essential Duties:
- Complete all assigned tasks within the guidelines and deadlines set by department managers.
- Works with department managers to properly assist with part-time team members and other areas assigned during events.
- Assists managers with encouraging staff to perform at quality levels of the performance, conduct & effectiveness of the entire security team as a cohesive unit assigned to the site.
- Assist with maintaining a professional appearance of the entire security team including those temporarily assigned to the site. Being available and approachable with questions/concerns about uniform policies.
- Responsible for the quality and accuracy of the logs and incident reports generated at T-Mobile Center.
- Responsible for the security and proper control of the lost & found items turned in to the Security Department at T-Mobile Center.
- Interact with T-Mobile Center patrons, vendors & employees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ensure part-time team members have the equipment and tools necessary to perform jobs accurately and efficiently, via regular communication with the department manager.
- Comply, implement, and adhere to all legal & ethical instructions given by Security Management.
- Effectively and calmly interact with angry or emotional employees and guests.
- Apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems to successfully perform and direct varied & complex tasks.
- Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without the loss of efficiency or composure.
- Comply with & adhere to all the department’s performance, conduct & attendance standards.
- Interact with T-Mobile Center guests, vendors, & employees in a courteous & professional manner including a guest service level of care.
- Dependable and able to work scheduled shifts, extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Contributes to the team dynamic by assisting coworkers, maintaining the facilities’ cleanliness, and helping to develop and maintain a positive work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
- A minimum education level: High School Diploma or its equivalency
- Two (2) years prior security experience, preferably in sports/entertainment.
- Ability to accept responsibility for the performance & conduct of the event security team assigned to the site.
- Ability to exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff & lead by example.
- Proven ability to maintain good business relations with all levels of staff.
- Ability to effectively make sound judgments, manage crises, and work under pressure without loss of composure.
- Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve relevant information.
- Ability to communicate, comprehend and follow directions effectively in English.
- Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional patrons and employees during intensely aggravated circumstances.
- Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality.
- Must be able to maintain a Security Commission License.
- Ability to efficiently maneuver around the venue frequently, walking and/or standing 8-12 hours per shift as well as the ability to kneel, climb, bend, or balance.
- Ability to move and lift materials and equipment up to 45 lbs.
- Able to be exposed to adverse conditions including inclement weather, noise fumes, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR/AED/First Aid training
