SUMMARY

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Operations Supervisor.  The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering first-class service in the industry of entertainment and conventions.  The position will supervise an operational team that is responsible for assuring facility readiness and event operations.  In addition, the supervisor will assist with maintaining the function and appearance of facilities, equipment, and janitorial supplies. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and analyze event work orders to meet service needs of each event.  Plan, direct, and execute effective workflow in a timely safe manner. Inspect event schematics to ensure proper set up and safety.

  • Trains and supervises operational staff and changeover crew that consist of full-time employees and third-party service providers. Appraises work performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves conflicts.

  • Coordinates efficient and safe delivery/removal of waste dumpsters.

  • Organize and maintain tools/equipment such as lifts, floor scrubbers, carts, and staging gear

  • Order all necessary supplies and materials by keeping track of inventory. 

  • Coordinate needed equipment with other departments.

  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage or loss of property or any other safety concerns to Department Management

  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed

  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with other departments.

  • Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions.

  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to operations crew and management

  • Work effectively with other building departments

  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing building changeovers in an entertainment facility with a demanding schedule along with one (1) year supervisory experience

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.

  • Forklift and Aerial Lift experience required

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment

  • Excellent organization and communication skills; Intermediate to advanced computer skills

  • Skilled at effectively supervising staff

  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic

  • Skilled at working independently to make decisions that benefit the company

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours as needed

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Forklift and Aerial Lift/Platform Certifications

COMPUTER SKILLS                                            

  • Experience using Microsoft Office

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Climbing staircases multiple times per day on event days. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Position requires physical ability to move about large facilities, including being on feet and walking for prolonged periods, bending, crouching, reaching, kneeling, crawl, grabbing and/or standing up to and over 8 plus hours during shift

  • Will work both indoors and outdoors as required by the functionThis position may need to perform work in high areas.

  • Position requires working extended hours, flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedule.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

  • Able to withstand loud concert type setting and various weather conditions.

  • Ability to work indoor and outdoor events.
