Governance, Processes and Effectiveness Manager

At ABB, we help industries outrun - leaner and cleaner. Here, progress is an expectation - for you, your team, and the world. As a global market leader, we’ll give you what you need to make it happen. It won’t always be easy, growing takes grit. But at ABB, you’ll never run alone. Run what runs the world.

As part of our ambition growth, we are hiring a new Core Common Data Product (CCDP) Compliance Manager, part of our Motion Data & Analytics ecosystem.

This role is open in Europe, but preferred locations are set in Poland close to our Motion locations. The work model is hybrid #LI-hybrid.

The Core Common Data Product (CCDP) is a strategic ABB initiative designed to enable the organization to speak a common data language across a fully decentralized business model. CCDP provides a shared data foundation that supports interoperability, scalability, and faster value creation across Business Areas while preserving local accountability and autonomy.

Within this context, lean and decentralized data governance is a critical enabler. It ensures that data products are trusted, compliant, and owned by the business, while avoiding unnecessary complexity and cost. CCDP governance is designed to balance risk mitigation, business accountability, and operational efficiency.

As CCDP Data Compliance Manager you will drive the endtoend design and adoption of a lean data compliance framework across ABB’s decentralized operating model, ensuring that compliance enables value creation rather than acting as a barrier.

With this strategic leadership role, you will have end-to-end accountability to shift ownership of datarelated risk to the business, define the appropriate level of control, and ensure that compliance is embedded into data products by design. You will work closely with our CCDP Governance team, the Data Owners, the senior business, IT, risk, and data stakeholders, influencing how data products are controlled, and operated across the organization.

The role owns the design, simplification, and operation of the endtoend  data control framework (ITGC and Internal control), ensuring the right balance between risk avoidance and cost, while making compliance transparent, measurable, and financially accountable.

This role will report to the CCDP Process and Governance Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the business ownership of data risk, ensuring that data product owners are accountable for defining and managing the appropriate level of control.

  • Own and continuously improve the endtoend data control framework, including ARIC and ITGC controls, with a strong focus on simplification and effectiveness.

  • Design and operationalize data contracts, clarifying responsibilities, controls, and expectations between data producers and consumers.

  • Define, implement, and monitor compliance KPIs, providing clear transparency on compliance status and risk exposure.

  • Ensure that compliant data products are accurately flagged in ABB’s data catalog, enabling trust and reuse across the organization.

  • Act as a senior partner to Business Areas and Functions, supporting them in balancing risk mitigation, operational impact, and cost efficiency.

  • Own and manage the data compliance budget, driving cost reduction at constant scope and tracking any scope increase.

  • Make business owners financially accountable for compliance scope changes, ensuring transparency of cost and impact

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related fields.

  • Extensive experience in data governance, risk management, compliance, or largescale business transformation in a global, decentralized organization.

  • Proven ability to operate at senior stakeholder level, influencing business leaders and driving accountability without direct authority.

  • Strong understanding of control frameworks, including ARIC, ITGC, or equivalent governance and risk models.

  • Experience in designing and simplifying governance and control models, balancing risk, cost, and business agility.

  • Solid understanding of data products, data ownership models, and data contracts.

  • Strong financial & business acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving cost transparency and efficiency.

  • Excellent communication and changemanagement skills, able to translate complex governance topics into clear business decisions.
