Position Summary

Manage the financial operations of the university’s off-campus assets, including multi-family residential, commercial, and office properties located in and around neighborhoods adjacent to the university.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, analyzes and reports on financial activity and serve as department liaison to Accounting and Purchasing groups. This includes consultation with department heads regarding budget performance and planning, monthly reporting and account reconciliation, variance analysis and quarterly projections. Identify areas of risk and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Contributes to the annual budget planning process by assisting department heads in preparing funding requests; projecting activity and resource needs for fiscal year planning and beyond; and assisting with submission of the budget in the University's budget planning tool.
  • Prepares analysis to support operational planning, strategic planning and other data driven business decision. Identifies trends by selecting data sources and analyzing data using Excel and other tools. Assist with developing financial models and measuring key performance indicators in order to predict and evaluate the department’s financial performance. Present results to multiple stakeholder audiences as appropriate.
  • Oversees the processing of financial transactions for assigned department units, including, procurement, invoice payments, reimbursements, etc. Monitor transaction status by creating and maintaining internal tracking tools. Research and resolve issues related to transaction processing, escalating as appropriate.
  • Serves as internal resource and liaison for procurement and payment issues. Maintain strong working relationships with Procurement, Accounts Payable and other CFU and/or applicable university departments.
  • Collaborates with staff to ensure compliance with payment terms. Review supporting documentation and prepare invoices.
  • Monitors pro-card compliance and expense reporting, providing training and assistance as needed.
  • Identifies, creates and facilitates process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination; integrating new systems and processes with existing ones; and partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive; Elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements; Assess business process and system inefficiencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as needed.

Salary Range

$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
